EXPERT BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS FOR SUCCESS

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR A BUSINESS?

Branding Photography helps your business create a strong visual identity, convey professionalism, build trust with customers, and stand out in a crowded market. Through consistent and high-quality images, branding photography can enhance brand recognition and attract your target audience effectively.

After a very busy, but wonderful wedding season, I always enjoy this time, where I can reflect, organise and work on other projects that can now occupy my working space fully, since they’re less centred around the summer months of the year and my diary is a littler quieter!

Following a blog post I recently wrote on “Why personal branding photography can help your business” (see here), I wanted to discuss why I absolutely love shooting branding sessions, and to also answer some “getting started questions” for those that have been asking.

Why I’ll be shooting more branding sessions…

-
I am able to work in a way that focuses on my clients and their vision – Personal branding photography is all about you and the celebration of you and your business! It’s a real opportunity to be entirely original. I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to capture such talents, passions and creations. I can open the door to show people what it’s like to work with you, before they’ve even met you. The aim is to capture images that enable you to be visible, putting yourself at the forefront of your business, and as I always say, people buy into the person, just as much as the business itself. Building trust, interaction and connection with your audience in this way (through imagery) is key to attracting your ideal clients and getting them to work with you.

-
I’m able to make it a worthwhile investment for my clients (and hear/see the benefits!) - I’ve read that it only takes “1.5 seconds” for someone to judge a website, and according to "Hubspot", “The brain processes visual information 60,000 times faster than it does text” and in “1/10 of a second”. I don’t even know if I can wrap my brain around these figures! Personal branding is of course an investment, and it’s about finding your aesthetic, who you are and who you want to connect with. My job is to turn that all into beautiful images that can articulate your story, celebrating your gifts and your message in the most glorious (and effective) way!

Tips on getting started with your own personal branding session…

-
Understanding the story you want to tell – Before even thinking about your photographs, consider what your brand is about, work out your ideal client and what you want them to think, feel and do when they see the photos or elements of your visual identity.

-
Think about the basics – A small plan of the types of photographs/imagery you’d like (I’ll do the rest, don’t worry), a location that you think will reflect and represent you/the business most effectively, team members or specific products you’ll need, etc! Having a little plan will help you invest your money/time most effectively.

This branding session for Millie's small business captured her brand identity/visual identity, brand personality/brand identity and the true essence of her unique personality. The whole process of this personal branding session/personal branding shoot was great fun from start to finish, professionalism was followed whilst Millie still had fun in front of the camera which left us with a great feeling and we both loved the whole thing, Millie definitely is my ideal client. This headshot session with branding imagery told this brand story to attract Millie's dream clients. As a business owner myself, helping a personal brand with their brand photography for their social platformS (e.g. Instagram) is definitely a passion of mine.

A brand photoshoot/personal branding photo shoot in different locations really can benefit any small business owners.

I really loved capturing this photo shoot/branding photo shoot and sending Millie her brand photos/personal branding photographs from her personal branding photography session. I honestly had SO much fun working with Millie, and it felt utterly wonderful to be able to get her the shots that she loved and will use everywhere to reflect her business at the level that it deserves!
