ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

HOW CAN WE MAKE OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY PHOTOSHOOT IN THE UK WITH PROPS/POSING TOTALLY INSTAGRAM WORTHY AND ALL OTHER FAQS?

An aspect of my job that I really love, is that I get to meet so many different people and couples, who are all unique in their own right. Engagements shoots (or pre-wed shoots) are really useful for all involved, it gives me a chance to find out more about a couple – what makes them unique and how they are together etc, and it gives my couple a chance to get comfy and relaxed with me in front of my camera. My wedding couples are all so different, and it’s so important to me that I can see what makes them work as a couple, as it enables me to capture their uniqueness in their photographs authentically!

Anna & Robbie wanted something a little different for their engagement shoot. As their wedding was going to be a summer wedding in the Gloucester countryside, they wanted to bring some Spring cityscapes to their shoot – we visited a park too, just to keep some of that beautiful English greenery, but they also loved what I did in terms of their urban styled photographs. We decided to go to Bristol for the shoot, and so we scheduled it for the middle of Spring, when the light would be soft and florals would be beginning to bloom.

​

We started along the streets of Clifton and ended up towards the Suspension Bridge. It was a great opportunity to catch-up with their wedding plans and find out more about them and how they met, etc. I love the fact that on an engagement shoot, it’s a slightly more relaxed setting than on the wedding day, so it also gives me the chance to see what different styles of images the couple like and take into account things that they might not want to emphasize in their photographs. Anna & Robbie were also referrals from a wedding I’d shot for Robbie’s brother Alex… see here, which is always such a privilege to be invited back into a family to capture more memories for them!

What was really great about their engagement shoot was that we managed to fit in everything from cool contemporary portraits to beautifully artistic car shots, which also featured Bristol in all it's beautiful.

I absolutely loved this engagement photo shoot, taking photos of this couple’s beautiful love story. We ended up with some amazing photos, which I sent via high resolution images digitally. Engagement photography really does celebrate the special occasion ahead of the big day/ahead of your wedding photos. Engagement shots are a great way for a lot of couples to have a lot of fun before their special day, in their favourite spots, leading to beautiful photos of their photo session that they can treasure forever.
