OUTDOOR SUMMER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER, IN SURREY

This beautiful bride and groom contacted me last year proclaiming they loved my “About Me” page and the words that I had written there, and that it really resonated with them, so I really couldn’t have asked for a better start and felt very humbled from the get go!

We clicked immediately over some tea/coffee and some scrummy shortbread. Once I had heard all about their wedding planning and the wedding venue they’d chosen; I was crossing everything that they’d book me as their wedding photographer. Luckily for me, they did book me as their professional photographer (yay!), and we were able to move forward into the next stages of their wedding photography planning for their wedding date, exciting!

Alex & Natalie had booked the most individual and beautiful venue in Godalming, Surrey. Busbridge Lakes, “...is a Grade 2A heritage garden”, with “...parkland of 40 acres, with 3 lakes, nature trails and wooded hillsides” and has “...one of the largest collections of waterbirds in the country. There are over 80 species of swans, geese and ducks, many endangered, as well as cranes and other exotic birds”. It really did make for the most stunning backdrop, with a hint of wonderful English quirkiness and wildlife.

In fact, when we met up for a venue visit to discuss Natalie & Alex’s wedding plans, and details such as location of shots, timings and parking (for example), it had recently snowed in Surrey, you really couldn’t write it! The venue looked beautiful, even covered in a thick blanket of icy snow, and I was so excited for August to come around.

On the morning of their wedding day it was unusually stormy for an early August day but the vibe at Natalie's"Prep" was wonderfully relaxed with classic tunes playing in the background, delicious nibbles and plenty of giggles! I also had the privilege of shooting Alex’s "Prep" too, which was at the quaintest little pub, around five minutes from their venue and the vibes were equally chilled there too!

Once I arrived at their stunning venue, I had the perfect amount of time to capture their beautiful marquee and details, guests mingling and final touches to Nat’s outfit!

Their heavenly outdoor ceremony was quietly loving and intimate, and the sun shone the whole time! We had made plans for the rain (as I always do) but we didn’t need to action them.

Shortly after, I managed to steal Nat & Alex away for their no muss no fuss “Couple Shots”, which we broke into stages. It was important to Alex & Nat that the day was spent with their family and friends, so we worked their photography to fit into this.

With live music, stunning graze/tapas boards, hilarious speeches, an ice cream stand, an absolutely beautiful sunset and some epic dance moves, the day was filled with beautiful moments and so much love and fun.

It was hard to leave! And on the car journey home, I was absolutely buzzing!

“Meg - thank you so much for our Wedding Photos - we love them. Thank you for being part of our special day, you managed to capture so many moments that we loved on the day so it was lovely to relive them through the Photos. We had the most wonderful day and have realised that we barely saw you which means you definitely did your job very well!” - Natalie & Alex.
