IN FOCUS: HOW MUCH I LOVE CANINE PHOTOGRAPHY

INTRODUCTION

Upon meeting Laura in Surrey, in the UK, we quickly discovered our goal was to capture some lovely shots of her doggy day-care centre for her website and for her marketing material. Although the aim was to capture Laura, her wonderful business and how she runs it, we also wanted to focus on the pups themselves too, detailing their unique characters and just how much fun they were having at their day-care! I'm so glad we got the opportunity to work together, as Laura quickly learned just how much I love canine photography!

WHAT INSPIRED YOUR LOVE FOR CANINE PHOTOGRAPHY

My love for canine photography was sparked by the unique personalities and emotions I’m able to capture in each shot. The way dogs express joy, curiosity, and love through their eyes and body language is truly captivating. It's a joy to freeze those moments in time through photography.

THE SOUL BEHIND THE LENS

How much I love canine photography is definitely based on my love for these wonderful animals too. I take my time during each photoshoot, focusing on understanding and patience. It's very important to build trust with your dogs. This helps create a fun and relaxed experience for everyone.

Whether your dog is a playful puppy or a wise old boy, I think every dog should have their unique personality shown. I wanted to not only show how much fun Laura's facilities were, but to also capture the spirit of her furry best friends.

TECHNIQUES FOR SHOWCASING A DOG'S PERSONALITY?

A dog photoshoot should be fun! I wanted to focus on...

-
Natural Light and Locations - Usually an environment where most dogs are at their happiest

-
Action Shots - If a dog is full of energy, I’ll catch those fun jumps, fast runs, and playful times

-
Quiet Moments - For calm dogs, I will focus on their soft side with carefully taken portraits

I never want there to be any stress about any of my furry subjects being on their "best behaviour" - we go with the flow!

THE EMOTIONAL IMPACT OF CANINE PHOTOGRAPHY

I think how much I love canine photography is more than simply just because I enjoy taking photographs of dogs. It's also such an enjoyable experience getting to capture strong bonds, joy and fun!

PRESERVING PRECIOUS MOMENTS WITH YOUR FURRY FRIEND

Time is, as we all know, can be a thief. Our dogs are with us for a short time in our lives, making every moment special. Dog photography helps us keep those memories alive. It creates a lasting reminder of the love we share.

Think about it, in the future, you could look back at a collection of photos. These photos can show your dog’s playful nature, their funny habits, and the happiness they brought you. These images are more than just pictures. They are windows to those happy memories.

CONCLUSION

The art of capturing a dog's charm is more than just snapping photos; it's about capturing the deep connection we have with our loyal friends.
