THE ART OF BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT A HAIRDRESSERS

Portrait photoshoot experiences are incredibly special and personal, but it's imperative that you feel like you gel with the right photographer to get the most from your experience. I had such fun during this branding photography at a hairdressers session, that I wanted to share a blog post on my top tips and celebrate this amazing small business.

WHAT ARE THE BEST LOCATIONS IN WORCESTER FOR THIS TYPE OF SHOOT?

​

 This session, for example, took place at the salon itself as this was the best location for this business, but I'm a firm believer in picking somewhere that will reflect your business, be it at your place of work, office, studio or outside in nature. Of course, being a photographer, I will always rate professional photographs and a photographer who focuses on capturing images that you will always treasure and will guide you on the best way to represent your personal brand, through brand photography.

• Lighting – Lighting is always a challenge, especially in these winter months with the late mornings and early evenings, but light is the one thing that’s essential in any photo. I much prefer using natural lighting where possible and actually this salon's lighting, as you may expect, was absolutely perfect and so flattering!

​

• Connection - We communicate with our eyes, and they’re what we are drawn to first in an image. When taking on this particular shoot, I had in mind that people visit a hair stylist to go and have a pamper, and it really can be a form of therapy - it was even more important therefore, for me to capture just how comfortable the staff at Oak & Rutherford made their clients feel and to translate that in their branding photography at the hairdressers.
