10 THINGS TO DO ON WHAT WOULD'VE BEEN YOUR WEDDING DAY
Louise & Dan first got in touch in the first half of 2019 for their July 2020 wedding at Bowden Hall in Gloucester. For them, their Wedding Day was all about capturing lovely memories with their nearest and dearest and solidifying their beautiful family unit.
So many of my lovely couples have been so consumed with the task of postponing (which I can’t even imagine having to do – just awful) that when their what “would’ve been date” comes around the corner, it’s often met with some disappointment of okay, “now what?!”.
So, in order to combat this, I’ve made a little list of things that could keep you smiling together and still celebrating your love, which after all, is what it’s all about!
Sounds (part 1) - Listen to some cheesy music, you know those tunes that really make you both nostalgic as a couple and have a good ol’ silly dance together!
Sounds (part 2) - Do little speeches. If it doesn’t make you cringe too much, having a few romantic words shared over a meal, just the two of you, will allow you to stay connected and remember your love for each other is more important than ever!
Taste - Get some good food in, whether you’re into cooking and fancy making a cake or feel like ordering a beautiful handmade goodie basket/meal from a Small Local Business – treat yourselves!
Texture - Get dressed up into something that makes you both feel REALLY good, soft dressing gowns or epic ball gowns/a suit – whatever floats your boats!
Sight (part 1) - Look through some old photographs of you both as a couple, reminisce together over a cuppa or bubbly - depending on your preference!
Sight (part 2) – Read/watch something together that you both love, maybe a film you went to see at the pictures when you first started dating?!
Connect – Get in touch with loved ones over video chat and have a natter, you could even time this in with when you would’ve been mingling on your big day!
Decorate – Make your atmosphere pretty – candles, fairy lights, bunting, florals – whatever suits you both!
Other Memories - Do something that will make a different memory, exploring a new place for a walk/picnic, having some professional photos taken, starting a YouTube Chanel of your Wedding Planning experience - there's lots of options!
Celebrate – Celebrate something new/different, like planting a new seed together and watching it grow!
Since I knew how important Louise & Dan’s Wedding Photographs were to them, and the fact that Louise had a Family Shoot Booking already in place - I offered to do said shoot at their Wedding venue, on what would’ve been their Wedding day!
Louise & Dan seemed over the moon and their venue could not have been more accommodating, lovely food was provided, Louise had her hair done beautifully and the sun was shining! I got to capture lovely family memories, which made both Louise & Dan even more excited for their new, bigger & better date.
I'd love to hear what you'll be doing on your special day “Round One”?!
